4 Must Eats – Las Vegas Foodie Bucket List
Prior to visiting, I would hear of people flying off to Las Vegas, and my thoughts would shift to gambling and roof-top pool parties. Now that I’ve been, I think of hidden attractions, architecture, and outstanding restaurants (well, and still gambling). On more than one occasion, the food I had in Vegas has earned a spot on my most memorable meals list – the foods are often thought about, but remain unmatched.
Beef Wellington at Gordon Ramsay’s Pub and Grill
Gordon Ramsay’s Pub and Grill – located within Caesar’s Palace – has an impressive menu, which includes a three course meal featuring Ramsay’s famous beef wellington. The meal begins with the choice of a caesar salad or an onion and ale soup (I never turn away from a good onion soup, and this one was better than good). Next up is the beef wellington, cooked to perfection, alongside a bed of mashed potatoes topped with carrots. I’d waited years to try this dish, and it far exceeded my expectations. For dessert, the most incredible sticky toffee pudding.
This meal was just the right amount for sharing, if that’s what you’re into. And while this meal has the option for wine and beer pairings, I highly recommend trying the Goodbye Blue Sky cocktail.

2. Cinnamon Roll pancake at Catch
Catch, located in the Aria, is not just food – it’s an aesthetically pleasing experience. While you’re there, enjoy sushi as an appetizer. I know – sushi and pancakes? – the pairing doesn’t sound right, but I promise it works. While you’re at it, throw in a jalapeño margarita for a kick.
Their cinnamon roll pancake is to die for — and that’s coming from someone who’s more of a waffle gal. It’s soft, yet crispy, iced, yet not too sweet. It’s pancake perfection.
3. The Cosmopolitan’s Lemon Verbena
I spotted this ~secret~ cocktail on nearly every “What to Drink in Vegas” article before visiting, so I knew this would be something I’d make time to order. If you consider yourself a brave foodie who likes to try new things, the Verbena is certainly something to try. You begin the unique experience – that is drinking this popular, yet unadvertised cocktail at The Cosmopolitan’s Chandelier Bar – by first eating a mouth-numbing flower (a crucial part of enjoying this special drink, that I instantly regretted). As your mouth continues to tingle for several minutes, you go on to drink this fresh, lemony cocktail.
Everyone I heard from highly recommended this cocktail, exclaiming how delicious it was – and I’m here to tell you that it is not, but if you’re up for something new, I suggest trying it anyway. Just know that whether you enjoy it or despise it, it will surely be like nothing you’ve yet tried.
4. Rigatoni Pasta, Braised Beef & Pork Bolognese at Wolfgang Puck’s Lupo
Lupo is Wolfgang Puck’s version of simple, yet elegant Italian cuisine inspired by Rome. Located within Mandalay Bay, you’ll find a knowledgeable waitstaff and generous, flavorful plates. This was my first bolognese, and it’s one I’ve been thinking a lot about since.
If you’re looking for a classic Italian meal, Lupo is the ticket, and while I’m partial to the bolognese, others expressed the menu can do no wrong.
To be frank, everything in New Orleans is the main attraction — there’s no city quite like it. However, the cuisine and drink scene are on a whole other level. While it’s hard to go wrong (you can walk into just about anywhere, and find a reason to stay), these were the places I’ll return to — the standouts.
