Complete Weekend Guide to Nashville, Tennessee

How to spend your weekend in the Country Music Capital of the world.

Grand Ole Opry Hotel

Grand Ole Opry Hotel

Home of the Stars Tour. From Belle Mead to Brentwood, the tour takes you through old, winding neighborhoods and up to large estates. Many of the homes are owned by country music stars, songwriters, and CEOs. The price is very inexpensive compared to other tours, and it lasts 3.5 hours on a comfortable bus.

Even if you don’t care about the person living in the home, this was still a great way to see the surrounding areas of Nashville (and one of my favorite things we did on our visit). I’d recommend going with Grey Line - they were awesome, and will pick you up at your hotel.

Parthenon. Nashville has built a full-scale replica of the Roman Parthenon, located in Centennial Park. While you’re there, enjoy nature, music and food trucks.

12South. My favorite spot in Nashville - this residential neighborhood is full of eateries, murals and shops. My main reason for visiting this area was Reese Witherspoon’s store, Draper James; however, we ended up eating at about three different places here, and they were all magnificent (see my restaurant guide) - I think it went something like ice cream, poutine, then donuts… and back to ice cream (Jeni’s is really wonderful, alright).

Explore Broadway. Broadway is lined with multi-level bars featuring live country music. Some are historic, but all are very different from one another. Here’s a guide to the top bars on Honky Tonk Row.

Walk the Pedestrian Bridge. Spanning over the Cumberland River, Nashville has one of the largest pedestrian bridges in the world. Here, you can get one of the best views of downtown Nashville.
