4 Tips for Sailing on the Carnival Panorama

Here’s what you’ll want to know before setting sail on the Carnival Panorama.

Anytime Dining. If you opt for anytime dining, try to get a spot on floor 3, rather than 4 – in my experience, the views and service are much better. While you will be assigned a table after making a reservation using the Carnival Hub app, if you ask the hostess for your preferred table, they will likely switch it for you (I usually asked for a window table on floor 3, while I know others asked to return to a specific server). Ask and you shall receive.

Guy Fieri has two restaurants onboard: Guy’s Burgers (absolutely fantastic, and free) and The Pig and Anchor (a bbq spot, not included). While The Pig and Anchor is an added expense, they do offer a select menu of free items during lunch – you can try it by walking through the restaurant to the outer deck from 12-2, typically. While this wasn’t the best barbeque I’ve had, it might be worth trying during one of your sea days.

The Serenity Deck on floor 15 can fill up quickly. If you plan on using their more comfortable seating options, be there by 9am. If you plan on saving yourself a seat while you get food, just know that seats can only be saved for 40 minutes — this is also important to note while you’re searching for a spot. I found that an entire section had towels on seats, yet no one was around, so I asked a couple if anyone had been sitting there and they let me know that a family had been attempting to save an entire section for their family for over two hours — just be aware of this, and know that the staff will allow you to take that seat, just ask.

When attending shows, front and center seating is best. This might sound obvious, but with the design of their Liquid Lounge, being in the wrong spot could mean a poll is in your way (if on the balcony level) or you may be moving your legs often to let servers by (if you sit in certain rows on the bottom level). If you don’t mind not having a backrest, I recommend sitting at one of the 5 barstools located at the island in front of the bar on the main level — this will prevent anyone or anything from being in your way, and you’ll be able to grab a drink quick. Normally, I’d want a more comfortable seat, but the shows only last about 40 minutes, so it’s not too bad for a barstool.
