Smoked Salmon Dip

In Alaska’s Wildest Kitchen, they use salmon at the base of every meal. In this case, we’re making Smoked Salmon Dip using canned salmon.

Chef Dodi, at Alaska’s Wildest Kitchen - located at Icy Strait Point, Hoonah, AK - uses this simple recipe to whip up a quick appetizer that will impress your family or a crowd.

Ingredients:

  • 7.5 oz. canned salmon (I like the StarKist brand)

  • 4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 dash of liquid smoke

  • 2 tbsp. onion, minced

  • 1 tbsp. fresh cilantro, chopped

  • Juice of one lemon

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, whip the cream cheese to a smooth texture. Add the liquid smoke and mayonnaise to the salmon, and combine with the cream cheese until it is well mixed. Squeeze in lemon, and then fold in onion and cilantro.

Note: You can swap out the liquid smoke if you already have pre-smoked salmon. Dried cilantro will also work.
