In-flight Travel Essentials

Travel can be stressful and uncomfortable, which is why it’s important to have all of your necessities at hand to put you at ease.

These are my in-flight items that i won’t board a plane without.

  • Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: I pack this, if nothing else. It’s invisible and restores moisture like nothing I’ve ever used before. I apply this at home before heading to the airport.

  • Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser: If you’re one of those people that needs a fresh face after a day of traveling, I recommend this cleanser. It’s conditioning and safe for sensitive skin.

  • Herbivore Oils: These oils are certified clean. My favorite is the Lapis Oil - I apply it after cleansing, post-landing.

  • Eye drops: the air is so dry on planes, and my eyes are always the first to notice. I like to use Lumify because they restore moisture and brighten.

  • Water bottle: airplanes are full of dry, recycled air. It’s important to stay hydrated in-flight to help with drowsiness. I try to avoid buying an overpriced bottle at the airport, so I’ve opted for a more sustainable option: BKR, a glass bottle with a silicon cover and a looped cap. I take this everywhere. I pack it empty, and then fill it after TSA. I’ve found this is my favorite reusable bottle, but there’s a ton of other sustainable options.

  • Earbuds: You probably already have Air Pods, which is great if you’re using your phone. But if you plan to watch an in-flight movie courtesy of the airline, you’ll have to plug in somewhere. Usually you can ask the flight attendants for an extra pair of earbuds, but sometimes the quality isn’t great, so I’ll try to remember to pack my own. These are my go-to earbuds.

  • Book: I spend most of my flight reading, it quickens the time. I usually check out Reese Witherspoon’s book of the month pick.

  • Lotion: I like Weldas Skinfood. It’s a tried and true cult favorite.

  • Lip Balm: Rosebud has cute little travel tins that are cheap and never seem to run out. I’m also big on Glossier’s Balm Dot Com.

  • Altoids + dental care.

  • Mighty Patches: these are the best. I never allow these to go out of stock.

  • Silk Sleep Mask: If you’re going on a long flight or red eye, you’ll probably want to sleep at some point.

  • Sunglasses.

  • Dry Shampoo: I like this one, but it all depends on your hair color.

  • Lip + cheek stick duo to freshen up post-flight

I’m always looking for new things to add to my list for an easier trip. If you have a travel staple, let me know what it is!
